Introducing our Newest Wellness Guide: Balance Me
by Laura Garber
The Holidays are one of the most joyful times of the year - but they can also be one of the most stressful. Between the parties, gift giving and travel, it’s easy to get overwhelmed amidst the chaos - and to lose sight of what’s most important. Although it’s inevitable that this time of year will challenge your normal routine, we believe that finding ways to maintain balance and take care of yourself is the key to a less stressful and more enjoyable holiday season.
With that in mind, we are excited to announce that we are launching our fourth recipe and wellness guide, aptly named Balance Me. This guide will help you navigate the holidays while still creating time for yourself, so you can show up fully as your best self. Filled with healthy seasonal recipes and fun tips and tricks for hosting (think - a step-by-step guide for building stunning floral arrangements!), our intention is to help guide you through this season with ease and grace while still prioritizing what’s most important.
We spoke with our founder, Jacqui, to learn more about Balance Me and how she finds balance in her own life.
What was the impetus for creating the Balance Me guidebook?
Every year, I get so many questions about how to stay balanced through the festive season. It’s such a fun and social time, but it can also throw us completely out of routine - there are more indulgent meals, late nights, and less structure overall. I wanted to create a resource that helps people navigate this time with a sense of ease and confidence. Balance Me is all about embracing the season without guilt, while still prioritising the things that make you feel your best - movement, nourishing food, and rest.
In your experience, what is the hardest part in finding balance during the holidays?
The hardest part is that everything changes - your routine, your environment, your social calendar. It can be easy to feel like you’ve lost your rhythm. I think the key is recognising that balance doesn’t mean sticking rigidly to your usual habits, but rather tuning in to what’s going to support you day by day. Maybe that means moving your body differently, resting more, or saying yes to moments that bring you joy. It’s about creating space to restore and reset, so you can actually enjoy the festivities instead of feeling drained by them.
What do you hope that people will get out of the guidebook?
I really hope people finish the guide feeling empowered to enjoy the festive season without guilt or pressure. It’s not about restriction or rules - it’s about finding joy and presence in the things that matter most: good food, connection, and self care. I want people to know it’s possible to indulge and celebrate while still feeling good physically and mentally. It’s about redefining balance in a way that feels kind and sustainable. I also hope they find joy in both cooking and eating the incredible recipes!
What does balance look like to you?
For me, balance is fluid. It changes with the seasons and with what life looks like at the time. It’s allowing yourself to enjoy the foods that are good for the soul, while also nourishing your body with what gives you energy and clarity. It’s knowing when to slow down and when to move, when to connect and when to take time for yourself. Ultimately, it’s listening to what your body and mind need and giving yourself permission to respond with compassion.
What is your favorite grounding technique to stay present and balanced?
My go-to grounding technique is slowing down and reconnecting with my breath. Taking a few deep breaths, even just for a minute, helps me reset and come back to the present moment. I also love moving my body, whether it’s a quick Pilates flow on my own, a walk outside with my family, or simply stretching in the morning before leaving the bedroom. Those small moments of movement are such powerful reminders to be present and grateful, especially during busy times.
If you had to pick one recipe from the guide, what would it be?
Definitely the Orange Cake! It’s so moorish and comforting and the perfect balance of sweet and zesty. I love how versatile it is too; I’ll have it with yogurt and honey as a snack with a cup of tea, or serve it with cream or a scoop of ice cream for dessert. It’s one of those recipes that feels special but still wholesome - the kind of dish that makes you slow down and savour every bite.
