The perfect crowd-pleasing snack!
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
INGREDIENTS:
500g (1lb) minced pork
1 carrot, finley chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped
2 tsp fennel seeds
1 tsp sea salt
1 tbsp olive oil
Puff Pastry (1-2/2.5 sheets)
1 egg
METHOD:
1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a tray with baking paper.
2. Finley Chop vegetables, then mix all filling ingredients together until well combined.
3. Lay a pastry sheet onto the lined baking tray. Begin placing the pork mixture in rows, rolling into ball-shaped sections and leaving some space in between each. Once the rows are in place, cut the pastry into long log-like sections, then roll to enclose.
4. Brush over the pastry with egg, and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and cooked through.
5. Once cooked, allow some time for the logs to cool before cutting into your desired size.
JACQUI'S TIP:
These freeze really well unbaked — glaze and bake straight from frozen (just add a few extra minutes), so you always have a homemade snack on hand!
